Kind Humanoid
Kind Humanoid is a groundbreaking robot developed in collaboration with Fuseproject and founder Christoph Kohstall, designed to seamlessly live and interact with humans in unstructured environments such as homes, gardens, and public spaces. Unlike traditional robots built for controlled factory settings, Kind Humanoid represents a leap forward as an AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) robot, capable of assisting across a wide range of everyday scenarios.
The challenge was to design a robot that feels approachable while delivering broad functionality. Fuseproject’s role went beyond technical performance, focusing on creating a human-centered companion that is warm and engaging.
To achieve this, Fuseproject designed Kind Humanoid with key elements that foster emotional connection. Its soft, diamond-shaped head features a dynamic display that expresses moods through visuals like clouds and landscapes, making it approachable and calming. The kimono-inspired torso, with its v-cut design, adds an elegant, familiar touch, while the light bronze color palette introduces warmth, setting it apart from typical robotic designs.
The result is a robot that feels optimistic, engaging, and perfectly suited for human interaction. By balancing technical innovation with thoughtful design, Kind Humanoid embodies care and kindness, setting a new standard for how robots can integrate into our homes and communities.
Kind Humanoid is not just a technological breakthrough—it’s a vision of how design and intelligence can work together to create robots that enrich our everyday lives.

1 Human
- Christoph Kohstall, a former Google robotics researcher, founded Kind Humanoid in his Palo Alto garage with minimal investment.
TED AI
- In October 2024, Christoph joined Yves Behar, Fuseproject founder and CEO, at TED AI to discuss his work—where Fuseproject is also an equity partner.
Acquired
- In January 2025, 1X, a robotics company backed by OpenAI, acquired Kind Humanoid to accelerate the future of humanoid robotics.
“Working with fuseproject, we didn’t just build a robot—we brought a truly kind and beautiful character to life. Their design expertise helped us create something with appeal, humor, and a surrealist charm that makes technology feel deeply human.”
