The Frame TV, a standout innovation from our 15-year collaboration with Samsung, redefines home entertainment by transforming a traditional black screen into a lifelike digital art gallery. Designed to seamlessly blend into home decor, the Frame TV revolutionizes how televisions integrate with living spaces.
The concept emerged from Fuseproject’s research lab to address a common challenge: consumers’ reluctance to introduce large, intrusive screens into design-conscious homes. The Frame TV solves this by “disappearing” when not in use, becoming an elegant digital art frame.
Key to its success is UI/UX innovation, including ambient light sensors that adjust screen brightness in real time, ensuring artwork appears authentic, not backlit. This creates the illusion of real art, blending effortlessly with its surroundings.
The industrial design reinforces this experience with a traditional picture frame aesthetic. Users can customize the TV with removable frames in various colors and materials, such as wood or metal, and add digital matting to create a gallery-like display.
Fuseproject also collaborated with renowned curators to build the largest digital art platform for the Frame TV, featuring masterpieces from the Tate Gallery, Uffizi, and Saatchi Gallery. This elevates the Frame TV beyond a conventional television, turning it into a showcase for iconic art.
Launched at the Louvre in Paris, the Frame TV embodies the intersection of art, design, and technology. Its commercial success has been extraordinary, achieving 100% year-over-year growth in some markets and evolving into a multi-billion-dollar business.
By transforming the traditional television into a functional and beautiful piece of art, the Frame TV redefined how technology can harmonize with living spaces.
