YBCA Technocraft

The TechnoCRAFT exhibition explores the evolving role of designers and consumers in the age of mass customization and digital fabrication.
The exhibition traced trends in design moving away from fixed objects and toward open “design platforms”, inviting people to participate in the creative process.

Exploring both the means (technology) and the motives (craft) that have converged, shaping the trend for ordinary people to want to be their own designers.

From the installation publications, to the pop-up shop, special attention was paid to the intersection of technology and craft.

Highlighting innovative unprecedented level of user participation in the design process with profound implications for the future of design as a profession.
