The first winners of the Gigaton Award were announced this weekend…Want to win one? it’s not for the faint of heart: reduce annual emissions of carbon dioxide and equivalent greenhouse gases (CO2e) by at least 1 billion metric tons -a gigaton- by 2020, and you may join the winners. The Gigaton Prizes are awarded by Sir Richard Branson’s Carbon War Room and Sunil Paul, founder of the Gigaton Awards. We designed the award as a literal visualization by capturing pieces of coal inside cast acrylic blocks, and gave the logo an appropriate imposing typography.
