Designing for impact

For the past two years, we have developed the SPRING Accelerator – a program that works with entrepreneurs on every facet of their business in order to maximize scalability, and specifically, their impact on the lives of the millions adolescent girls living in poverty worldwide. After reviewing hundreds of applications, and a challenging selection process, the final 18 selected entreprenuers spent two weeks at the Maasai Lodge in Nairobi with our team of designers, and group of international experts, to work hands-on in developing their businesses.
Every element of these businesses was considered – naming and brand identity, websites and digital infrastructures, physical products, business modeling, manufacturing and market strategies; most importantly, we looked at how these businesses could maximize their impact on the girl, and how that in turn will affect her family and her community. These entrepreneurs walked away with tangible results – a refreshed business, and a clear path to a prosperous future.

Vanity Fair sent a crew to witness our ‘Design Bootcamp’ first-hand, and have released an extensive article and corresponding video documenting their experience – click here to check it out.
