    Yves is a design entrepreneur who believes that product, digital, and brand design are cornerstones of any business. He is the founder of fuseproject, the San Francisco-based design and branding firm he established in 1999. He is also the Co-founder of start-up August, a next generation home entry system.

    His other collaborations with renowned partners such as Herman Miller, GE, Puma, PayPal, SodaStream, Samsung, Issey Miyake, Prada, and many others have received international acclaim. Béhar’s works are included in the permanent collections of museums worldwide, and he is a frequent speaker on design, sustainability, and business topics.

    Sunil Karkera
    President

    Sunil is fuseproject’s President, co-founding three successful Silicon Valley Startups in mobile, digital, marketing, and healthcare prior to joining. His career spans multiple markets and he brings expertise in building out successful brands, teams, and products for global companies. Previously as Vice President of Fox Interactive Media, Sunil led the development of applications and business systems before founding TCS Interactive, a digital solutions firm. Most recently, he was the Global Managing Director of Denmark-based design firm, Designit.

    Sunil is passionate about innovation that occurs at the intersection of art and technology. His fondness for the arts led him to pursue typography, print, and design at the University of Arts in Zurich after already earning a degree in Computer Science. Sunil is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Qin Li
    VP of Design

    As the Vice President of Design at fuseproject, Qin Li leads the firm’s Industrial Design, Digital Design, Environments, Brand, and Design Operations team. Harnessing her creativity and leadership, she takes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to team building and engaging all the disciplines within a fully informed, thorough, and integrated process.

    Qin’s philosophy is based on a human-centered approach. She believes designers can drive cultural change, improve quality of life, and address some of the world’s most pressing problems. In her time at fuseproject, she has helped Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, non-profits, and entrepreneurs shepherd designs to market in several categories, including AI & robotics, health & wellness, wearable tech, consumer electronics, furniture, packaging & soft goods, among others.

    Qin’s work has been honored with global recognition and numerous awards, including Gold and a Special Award from IDSA for the Snoo bassinet and Ori Living, 100 Best Inventions of 2020 from TIME Magazine for a smart bot designed for Embodied, and 2020 Best of Year Award from Interior Design Magazine for the VOX Ventilator. Qin is also the recipient of the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Academy of Art University.

    Managing Director

    Leah thrives on bold bets and bringing people together to realize them. As Managing Director at fuseproject, she helps new and existing clients move with ambiguity to create industry-leading, design-led solutions. Over the past 18 years, Leah has worked across the technology, finance, beauty, CPG, and QSR industries to drive value for some of the world’s most iconic brands. She has led design and innovation efforts for L’Oréal, Diageo, Samsung, and Nestle Health Sciencesin addition to a portfolio of start-up clients. 

    Leah is a member of the global non-profit Women In Innovation (WIN) and a champion of Environmental, Social, and Governance issues.  She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two young kids, which are her boldest bets yet.

    Logan Ray
    Partner, Strategy

    As the partner of the strategy practice, Logan guides and oversees all strategic output of the studio. He is at his best helping client partners untangle complex challenges and construct compelling, actionable strategies for design-led growth and marketplace leadership. During his more than fifteen-year tenure at fuseproject, he has led strategic efforts for a broad range of partners, including Puma, Herman Miller, GE, Jawbone, Nivea, Google, Canal +, Johnson & Johnson, and Louis Vuitton.

    Prior to joining fuseproject, Logan led strategic efforts at IDEO and the Arnell Group Innovation Lab, following stints as an architect and rock drummer. He holds a Masters degree in Architecture from Rice University and BA in history from Vassar College.

    Head of Strategy

    Emilie leads fuseproject’s strategy practice which spans innovation strategy, design research, service design, brand strategy, and business design. She oversees all strategic output for the studio, bringing together rigor and creativity in the service of creating impact through design.

    Emilie brings over 15 years of experience delivering solutions for companies across a range of industries. She is passionate about identifying growth opportunities and creating holistic experiences for forward-thinking organizations.

    Before joining fuseproject, Emilie led strategy and teams in creative consultancies and on the client-side, including IDEO, Wolff Olins, Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, and Chobani.

    Liam is fuseproject’s Director of Industrial Design & Environments. With over a decade of experience, his portfolio of work includes a wide range of products, from furniture to consumer goods, micro-mobility products, exhibitions, retail spaces, packaging, and more for notable clients such as Herman Miller, Landscape Forms, Samsung, Nike Foundation, Ori, L’Oréal, the de Young Museum, and Unagi.

    Liam’s natural propensity to lead includes helping his teams navigate the design and development process of complex projects. An end-to-end problem solver, he helps bring products and experiences to market that connect with people and have a real, lasting impact. In this role, Liam is at his best when empowering diverse teams of designers to do some of the most meaningful work of their lives.

    Thomas is the leader of fuseproject’s experience design practice. For over two decades, he has led the design of integrated services and platforms for many of the world’s best-known brands – covering a range of domains, from advertising and marketing to physical product & platform experiences. Thomas’s career has taken him across many international markets, living and working in LA, Seattle, London, New York, and San Francisco.

    bringing foresight and rigor to the consideration of design systems and patterns, progressive human-centric experiences, brand meaning and purpose, and quick, agile prototyping to ensure high quality execution and product success.

  • John Besford

    John Besford
    Director of Brand

    John has almost three decades of experience delivering brand design leadership with some of the world’s most successful companies, including Samsung, GE, BBC, Alaskan Airlines, Charles Schwab, NFL, and T-Mobile.

    At fuseproject, he leads the brand design team and oversees project direction, from concept to launch and beyond. He applies his diverse background of experience in brand strategy, brand identity, and brand system development in launching and maintaining brands across multiple channels.

    John’s passion for his work is centered around creating simple yet robust ideas and branding that transform the strategic direction of businesses and organizations.
