The Earwear packaging collection was designed to feature the product the same way a museum features a piece of art, on exhibit behind glass. The museum box allows for ultimate product viewing on a well branded pedestal. Jawbone’s unique personality comes through in the expressive naming, such as Noise Assassin™ and Ear Candy™, and in the cheeky product descriptions that introduce color identities, like “Yello, Drop me a Lime, Lilac You Mean it, and Frankly Scarlett”. Similarly, with Icon, each design is evocative of different personalities that represent different personas, creating a palette of cultural icons.
We wanted to bring greater self-expression to the Jawbone line-up, with Prime's four vibrant colors and Icon's six unique shield designs. With Prime, our focus was a new summer color pallete, bringing self-expression and a smile to the Jawbone line-up. We treat color and texture like others treat fabrics; bringing together material richness and personal expression. Introducing color identities, “Yello, Drop me a Lime, Lilac You Mean it, and Frankly Scarlett”, represent great skin-tone complements and contrast, as well as personality, reinforcing the basic notion that anything the consumer wears should be designed to makes a statement, and that's why we branded it Earcandy. Similarly, with Icon, each design is evocative of different personalities that represent different personas, creating a palette of “cultural icons.”
